Mother's Day: A Perspective for Indigo Parents

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on May 13, 2012 at 11:45 PM

I was just doing a little Spring cleaning this afternoon, and discovered some handmade greeting cards that my daughter had made for me when she was young. Deep emotions welled up from within as I looked through the many homemade birthday and Mother’s day cards that she had created, some with three dimensional moving parts and beautiful poetry. Hallmark doesn’t even come close to the intricacies and care of these homemade cards.

It made me think about the many parents that I have met over the years and how they only wanted their child to be “perfect” at everything. If their child wasn’t the best in academics, or art or music or gymnastics, then something must be wrong with their kid and their kid needed to be medicated or intensely tutored so that they could focus on achieving that perfection. The outcome would usually be disappointment for the parents and shame for the child when this perfection didn’t happen. Or worse, the child crashed and burned from non-stop after school intense activities or from medication side effects.

As a parent of an Indigo child, sometimes we have to take a step back and look at our child from a different point of view. Each child is perfect, whole and complete; and we are the chosen lucky ones that get to raise them. No one knows our children as well as we do. If teachers and professionals say “X” about your child or put a diagnostic label on her, that will still never define her capabilities.

As the parent of two grown Indigo Children, the best thing we can do for our children is love and support them as they find their own way. Not everyone can be a rocket scientist or celebrity. But each of us can be the best person that we can be.

Wishing everyone cherished memories on this special Mother’s Day!

Easy Grounding Technique

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on April 11, 2012 at 11:35 PM

So much energy is shifting on the planet. Earthquakes (small and big ones) are happening daily. Solar flares are happening daily. And as for us, many people are getting horribly sick, feeling out of sorts and having frequent bouts of anxiety, aches and pains, vertigo, sleepless nights, and just not feeling right.

Depending on where you are on your path of ascending, you may be feeling these symptoms intensely or really not at all. We have found, that the younger your age, the better able you can handle it. It is our older generation who are stuck in a slower frequency with unhealthy habits that are feeling the brunt of the shifts.

We have written several blogs about grounding , and it is always a good idea to review these so that you can do as much as possible to feel well. But here is another technique that I recently learned in acupuncture school.

There is a point on the sole of your foot called Kidney 1. Kidney 1 is located in the depression of the sole, when the foot is in plantar flexion. It is approximately at the anterior third and the posterior two thirds of the line from the web between the 2nd and 3rd toes (the big toe is the 1st toe) to the back of the heel.

        Kidney 1 Point

Basically, it is on the bottom of both feet, between the 2nd and 3rd toes, a third down the foot. It is a great point to know as it helps with calming your mind and getting back into your body. Most of us are in our heads too much. When you are in your head, you are constantly thinking. Your thoughts are in the future or past, not in the present moment. When you are in your body, you are in the present moment. To stimulate this point, you can use acupressure and hold down the point with your fingers, or press into in with a grounding stone, like obsidian or rose quartz.

Sometimes it is not possible to hug a tree or connect to Mother Earth. This is a good backup for those situations. Perfect for when you are anxious taking an exam or anytime you are feeling ungrounded.

Try it and see. I would love some feedback.

Energy Clear Your Home

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on March 7, 2012 at 10:35 PM

The energetic aspect of the home is very important to the well being of a sensitive Indigo.

Everything has a vibration or frequency. Just because you can’t see or hear something, it doesn’t mean it’s not there. If you can sense that something is present in your home and it shouldn’t be there, then it probably is real.

A great example of invisible energy would be a dog whistle sound. No one would doubt that the sound is very real to the dog, even if we don’t hear the sound ourselves. Honestly, the home may have many energies within it that we may not sense at all. Even those of us who have sixth sense capabilities may not sense all eerie energies. It really depends on how perceptive and sensitive we are.

Here are some basics on how to tell when the home needs an energetic clearing:

· Pets of your home are staying away from certain areas of your home

· Your dog is barking at something that seems like nothing is there

· Disturbed or unsettling sleep, creepy dreams

· Appliances turning themselves on and off even though no one is touching them

· Lights flashing

· Certain areas of the home have extreme temperature changes

· Getting chills, creepy crawly skin, spasms in your body (assuming that you are not sick) when you stay in certain areas of the home or speak about certain people or on certain topics

· Smelling particular smells that don’t make sense in your home; like cigar smoke or favorite perfume smells from deceased loved ones

· Hearing your name called, even though no one is home or everyone who is home says it wasn’t them

· Seeing spirits fully or moving shadows out of the corner of your eye

· Getting unexplained wounds/scratches, especially noticing them upon waking up in the morning

· Feeling itchy

· Intuitively feeling that something is not right in the home; people on edge, getting sick

I think we have had some of these occurrences happen to us. Sometimes unnnatural energies are just passing through, but more often than not, these energies will end up getting comfortable in your home unless you go out of your way to get them to leave.

It can be as simple request as, “I demand all low frequency energies that are not of Love and Light leave now. You are not welcome here. I demand that you leave now.”

If you feel chills or air moving around you, or feel any of the things on the list above, you can bet that there really is something from another dimension in your home.

At this point, I would say “All Creator (G-d, Goddess, Ascended Masters, Angels and Archangels, Buddha, etc.) energies of Love and Light , please be with me now. Thank you for escorting this low frequency energy to wherever it needs to be for its highest path of enlightenment. Thank you.”

Usually this will do the trick. If that doesn’t work, you can go on to say, “Anyone of Love and Light who knows this entity, please be here now and escort this lost energy to wherever it needs to be for its highest path of enlightenment.”

Sometimes a lost soul needs to recognize the being that is escorting it, or it will not leave. Not everyone recognizes the higher frequency energies of different gods/goddesses.

And finally you can continue to clear the space by requesting, “Ascended beings of Love and Light, please remove all cords of attachment between me, my home, my family (you can name them individually for clarity purposes), and this energy that has been cleared. Please vacuum all the debris from this clearing and send this energy to the Light to be transmuted for the highest good of all concerned. Thank you.”

And that should do it. If you still feel that there is something lingering, it may be time to call in a professional space clearer for this purpose. Personally, I have done many clearings of many homes and people. At times, there can be sticky alien energies that do not move easily. Some may have to be taken in pieces due to all the cords of attachments and some have hidden layers of cronies that may be present, but not seen until you get through the layers above them. Some may have a message that they want to tell. It doesn’t matter. My philosophy is they don’t belong and they have to leave. Period.

It does help if you get yourself grounded before doing this clearing as it will keep you from losing power and falling into the fear mode. Bringing in the element of smoke and fire through the use of sage and candles can also be a benefit. Sometimes I have a CD playing with grounding sounds (whales, nature, singing bowls, etc.) in the background to assist in keeping the whole situation and me more fully in my power.

I hope this helps those who have uninvited guests in their homes. My mom often says, “If they aren’t paying rent, then it’s time for them to move out.”

If you stay strong and in the emotion of Love (not fear), you should succeed.

Detoxify Your Home

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on February 4, 2012 at 10:25 PM

A question came up recently on our other blog ( about detoxifying our homes. I thought it best to answer it here since us Indigos are highly sensitive to our environment.

Sick building syndrome is not just for people who work in poorly ventilated office buildings. According to the World Health Organization, up to 30% of new and remodeled buildings worldwide may be linked to this syndrome. But it is also present in older buildings as well.

It usually comes down to flaws in heating, ventilation or air conditioning. Other contributing factors include the outgassing of volatile organic compounds (VOC) like formaldehyde and plastics from new construction materials (new carpeting is really bad), or mold or inordinate amounts of dust, dirt and animal hairs.

Since moving from your home may be impossible, here is a check list of what you can do to lessen the toxicity in your home:

· Keep your house as clean as possible. Dust and vacuum daily. Change the bed linens at least twice a week. Remove all carpeting. Not only does carpeting outgas, it also collects tons of dirt in the microfibers that you are breathing in constantly. Adverse health effects suffered by carpet installers are a clear-cut way to see the hazards of this product. Most documented are neurological problems and higher rates of cancer. If you must have carpet, make sure that it is as natural as possible.

· Use natural cleaners. Replace chemical cleaners with essential oils, baking soda and vinegar. Tea tree oil is especially effective at removing mold and mildew. Baking soda acts as an abrasive to remove stains and residue from glass, ceramic and stainless steel. You can add a few drops of water to make a paste to clean the stove, sink, tub or toilet. White vinegar is excellent as a window and mirror cleaner. Add your favorite essential oil if you want a pleasant smell.

As a side note to this, you should avoid all artificially fragranced products: air fresheners, household cleaners, detergents. Unscented may very well be a highly processed product. It takes a lot of chemicals to mask a smell, so fragrance-free anything may be full of toxic chemicals. Fluffer sheets used in the dryer can be more toxic than your detergent. Use the silicone dryer balls instead. Plus it is much more cost effective, as they have an infinite reusable lifespan.

· Remove plastic from your eating arsenal. If you have any plastic dishes or cups, throw them out. Bis phenyl A (BPA) is a known xenoestrogen and will affect the hormone balance of your body. Besides its known carcinogenic effect, it will also create imbalance within your endocrine system and ultimately affect mental and physical development. (See other blog De-Plasticizing You!

Leaking of bis phenyl A into your water from plastic bottles has already been documented. And the longer the water has been in the bottle, the more BPA you will be ingesting.

· Do not use the microwave. Microwave ovens are radiation ovens. When you say it like that, the reality of this machine is clear. The microwave radiation distorts the molecular structure of the foods; it destroys much of the nutrients and causes many problems with the immune system. If you value your health, take the extra couple of minutes to heat the food up the right way.

· Limit cell phone and cordless phone use. These phones expose us to a form of electromagnetic radiation (EMF) energy. An analysis of the most rigorous studies found convincing evidence linking the use of handheld phones to brain tumors, especially in users of a decade or longer. In addition to this, we know personally of people who feel physically ill when using the cell phone. It affects brainwaves. Period. Use it sparingly and stick to the land line (NOT cordless) as much as possible. Buy an EMF protector and install it on your cell phone.

· Limit computer use. Besides the obvious eye and wrist strain, there is a generating of EMFs. (Invisible Toxins http/

· Nobody would sit at a desk under high voltage power lines. Yet we will happily sit a foot away from a computer screen, with a computer and printer on the desk next to us, and perhaps even a power supply near our feet. The old box-shaped cathode-ray tube (CRT) computer monitors generally have quite high levels of radiation. Best to invest in a flat screen monitor. And of course EMF protectors are essential.

· Limit television watching or better yet, remove it completely from the home.  Research shows that your brain literally shifts into a passive state when you’re watching television. Experiencing "brain fog” is not uncommon. Your alpha brain waves increase after television exposure. Alpha waves are commonly associated with a relaxed meditative state as well as brain states associated with suggestibility. Too much time spent in the low alpha wave state caused by TV can cause unfocussed daydreaming and inability to concentrate.

· Remove electronics from the bedroom, especially TV, computers and radio alarm clocks. Again they release a continual dose of EMFs. Iif they must be present, then they should be as far away from your head as possible when sleeping and as close to the floor as possible.

· Remove your shoes before coming into your home. Tracking in dirt and germs from outside into the home should be avoided.

· Discard all aluminum or Teflon based cookware. Aluminum will leach into your food. It is a known neurotoxin, causing brain degeneration. Teflon or stick free cookware will eventually chip and enter your food. Better to use high quality stainless steel, cast iron or titanium.

· Do not use aluminum or plastic wrap on foods. And definitely do not microwave anything in or covered with plastic. (Our personal story on plastic toxicity: BPA: A Real Life Case Study http/

· Invest in an air purifier and negative ionizer to eliminate air borne toxins – mold spores, dust, cigarette smoke, pet hair, hydrocarbon toxins and remnants of chemtrails from outside that we may be carrying into our homes.

· Invest in a water purifier. City water is loaded with chemicals to make it potable. We have a double carbon and alumina filter installed under our sink. You may need a plumber to install it, but it isdefinitely worth the expense. Not only does the water taste cleaner, but you are actually getting quality water that will help your body detoxify properly, instead of poisoning it even more. Other options include fresh spring or well water, reverse osmosis or a water distiller.

· Remove fluoride from your intake. This includes toothpastes, mouthwashes, fluoride rinses and municipal drinking water. It is an endocrine disruptor and totally inactivates your pineal gland. The pineal gland is so important in developing Third Eye intuitive abilities as well as regulating melatonin production (important for proper sleep).

By integrating just one of these techniques into your home and maintaining it, your life will change for the better dramatically. The ability to think clearly and sleep better should be obvious within a few weeks, if not sooner. Prevention is worth more than a pound of cure. Get started today. Your home is your sanctuary. It is up to you to maintain it.

Just Be

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on December 22, 2011 at 10:25 PM

I saw a client today, who was upset at her son (he’s an Indigo) for getting an average grade in a class that he hates. Another client (she’s an Indigo) was upset with herself for making a medical appointment now, even though she should have done it 6 months ago. Their feelings on these situations were that they were disappointed since the outcome was not what they had hoped for or planned.

When it comes to personal progress, everyone goes at their own pace. Everything can’t be done yesterday or done to perfection. Taking a step forward in anything is something to be proud of.

To quote from the song The Climb, “Ain't about how fast I get there./Ain't about what's waiting on the other side./It's the climb.”

Or in colloquial terms, “It’s all about the journey, not the destination.”

So don’t judge yourself too harshly if things don’t work out the way you planned or they take a little longer to get there.

There is a divine plan to everything. When you are doing the best you can, that is all you can do. Do not judge or beat yourself up over what could have been. Just be.

Solar Flares

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on December 3, 2011 at 10:10 PM

Have you been feeling off lately?

It may have started a little before Thanksgiving Day and then escalated on that Thursday or Friday morning, since the planets around us were in a very unusual alignment on those days. Besides being in Mercury Retrograde, we are also experiencing unusual amounts of solar flares.

A solar flare is a magnetic storm on the Sun which appears as a very bright spot and a gaseous surface eruption. Solar flares release huge amounts of high energy particles and gases that are tremendously hot. They are ejected thousands of miles from the surface of the Sun. And there appears to be a direct connection between the Sun’s solar storms and human biology.

The prophecies of the Mayan elders speak of a changing paradigm during our era. The words of the Maya say that we are now in a time of “change and conflict”. The change is coming from the "outside” in the way of weather, natural phenomena, celestial disturbance (sun flares) and manmade self-inflicted trauma. The conflict comes from the ‘inside’ in the way of personal challenge, grief, bewilderment, depression, anxiety, and fear. It is said we are at a time of choosing a new path, deciding on a new self and community direction, venturing into the unknown, finding our true identity of being. Others will choose to stay on the same road, stay with the familiar, and place great effort to maintain “predictability".

The photonic (sun) energy now coming to Earth, is affecting our biology and our minds. Our thoughts create our reality (Law of Attraction) so it is important that we focus on what we want, rather than we don’t want. Otherwise, we will manifest more of what we don’t want. If you are in the process of change and transformation (who isn’t?), this solar energy may work well for you. On the other hand, if you are stuck in the past through grief and anger, you will simply manifest more reasons to remain stuck in victimization until you are ready to release it. So it is really important to be conscious and think positive to manifest more positive outcomes.

Solar flares are very disruptive to those of us who are sensitive: tiredness, dizziness, hearing issues, shakiness, feeling ungrounded, floaty, nauseous, vertigo, anxiety, depression, hot flashes and difficulty breathing. This is the short list.

This morning I woke up shaky. No matter how much water or nourishment I put in my body, I still felt like I was trembling. For a couple of days, my mom has had bouts of vertigo and feeling like she was in an echo chamber, in addition to spaciness and hot sweats. (No, she doesn't have an ear infection).

Being the healers that we are, we cleared the karmic issues with people, places and things, used acupressure and plants to ground, took salt baths, ate grounding foods like beets, carrots, and turnips and used chakra balancing tuning folks thinking that would help. These techniques gave some relief, but only to a certain degree.

I channeled into the goddess energy to get some assistance. I spoke to Kali and Isis. They both said that the Earth was going through some radical shifts. Their recommendations were to stay grounded, eat really healthy, and connect with the grid

You can read our many other blogs on these topics (grounding, eating healthy) for more information. We’re doing the best we can. And we hope this information assists you through this transition period.

Below are some other websites that explain the solar flares and their implications. We know that this will be helpful at this challenging time.

Sending much peace and healing energy to you and Mother Earth.

Giving Thanks

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on November 24, 2011 at 10:00 PM

In conventional circles, Thanksgiving is when we stuff our faces, and show off to our family. But as Indigos, we know that Thanksgiving is a time to remember our blessings and feel gratitude for them.

Reflecting on the spirit of the holiday, here are some channeled words of wisdom from the original Pilgrims at the original Thanksgiving celebration.

We were scared; most of our food supplies were gone. Our people were dying or sick and we were not prepared for the cold season ahead. The native people, of this new land, opened their homes to us. They provided food; took care of our sick and helped us bury the dead.

These glorious people taught us how to forage, and to redefine our own limitations. They were our light when there was darkness all around us. For this we are grateful. For this we give thanks. Amen.

I hope this holiday reminds you of the many blessings present in your life. Situations we face today are not as dire as those the Pilgrims faced, and I am grateful for this.

In my life, gratitude is a daily habit, like brushing my teeth or combing my hair. Today is just a more conscious version of it. Time for a gratitude dance!

The Mayan Calendar

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on October 8, 2011 at 10:55 PM

It has come to my attention very recently that the end of the Mayan calendar is not December 21, 2012, but is actually October 28, 2011. This theory has been confirmed by Carl Johan Calleman Ph.D, an independent researcher on the Mayan Calendar phenomenon.

I guess the Hollywood studios had it all wrong. We can just ignore all those 2012 disaster movies and documentaries. Let’s get real!

In my opinion, it doesn’t really matter what the date is, as changes are already occurring, even now as we speak. No one can ignore the inordinate amount of earthquakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes in the recent few months. The Earth is shifting and it is affecting everyone.

I live in NYC and no one in my family has ever felt an earthquake until August of this year. Then we had the hurricane a few days later. (My brother had so much water damage to his apartment that he actually had mushrooms growing on his ceiling. Yuck!) All I can say is “Thank goodness we didn’t have a tsunami!”

So I think the end of the Mayan calendar may be sooner than we think. To gain clarity, I went straight to the source: The Highest Consciousness of the Mayan Calendar of the Light

(I do that a lot. That is, I go to the source, when I need to know the REAL story (might enjoy my channel from the Native Americans about Thanksgiving)).

No fear. Somewhere along your path there has been put a belief of fear. This is not so. It is a time of enlightenment. It is a time of full potential; to see your full gifts, to use them.

It is when consciousness will be heightened. The veils are thinner and there will be no differentiation from the other vibrations that exist simultaneously with you.

Your goal is to walk the path; not to put down your talents, but to embrace them.

These are the steps to achieve this.

1. Find your gratitude

 2. Find your love

 3. Find your passion

 4. Find your light

 5. Get grounded

 6. Feel the peace

 7. Know that everyone is one

When further queried about thespecific date of October 28, 2011: This is the date when the portals open; the veils will be very thin or gone.

They went on to further say:

You will have “Ahha!” moments or feel the depths of despair. You must find any way you can to stay grounded. This is key to your ascension.

For those of us who are conscious and awake, the shift will be noteworthy. We will be presented with what we need. This is not material needs but something much more significant that will affect us on a profound level. For those who are oblivious and continue to stay with the masses, the fear will continue to build on itself to such a point that people will be easily duped into believing whatever the media tells them.

Since we are all ascending on many different levels, it is important to keep a clear mind and a clean diet at this time so that the changes are effortless and comfortable. Grounding and a wholesome environment will keep you in your power and at your best.

As the Earth continues to ascend in its vibration, there will be a release of old paradigms and a shift to new ones. Many of us will be feeling emotional, mental and physical discomfort as we are confronted with our own limitations.

During this October, we enter the 7th and final day of the 9th wave of the Mayan Calendar on October 11 (full moon) and its end on Oct. 28. We will have some powerful energy downloads with the new and full moons and some sobering realizations that will either propel us into new ways of being or depress us more deeply into victim consciousness.

The secret is to stay as connected to earth as you can, so that you are in resonance with the planet. The miracle vibration of ascension affects all of us. Peace, joy and good health are ours to have.

Mermaids and Me

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on August 16, 2011 at 10:55 PM

Although most people would arrive at the beach sometime in the middle of the day to soak up the rays and get some color, I am not most people.

In this modern day of Vitamin D deficiency that is contributing to a plethora of illnesses (depression, osteoporosis, chronic fatigue, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and of course, rickets), I have come to believe that it is extremely important to get a safe dose of the Sunshine Vitamin (Vitamin D) whenever you can.

Since I am unwilling to get a sunburn and deal with the sequelae of pain, and I have no desire to look like a glowing alien or burnt toast, I have to be pretty conscious about how I get my exposure to sunshine.

Indigos are way too sensitive to everything, including the sun. So we need to follow some simple common sense rules to avoid overexposure.

I arrived at the beach at six p.m. It was beautiful. The sun was not as intense as it would have been during the earlier hours; plus the mobs of people that were already there were leaving. It couldn’t have been better. The quiet solitude of the semi- deserted beach, along with the cool breeze of the ocean was absolutely perfect.

The main purpose of my expedition was to get grounded and to detox. As you know from my other blogs, this is probably the most important aspect for Indigos to stay healthy. Actually in this fast paced world, it is probably the most important aspect for anyone to stay healthy. The beach and ocean salt water were the ideal environment to achieve this. In clearings, we have found wet earth, soil or sand helps expedite the grounding process due to the electrical charge being released by the body into the earth. (That will be another blog, I’m sure.)

I began with a long walk along the wet sand; my feet enjoying the coolness of the tide going in and out over my hot toes. After about 20 minutes, I felt moved to place my hands into the ocean water, and to read whatever it had to say.

It was then that I experienced something quite unique. Instantly, I was able to hear the voices of the Mermaids. In retrospect, there might have been some Mermen speaking as well, but I wasn’t really aware of it. Perhaps it is because I tend to resonate with the female energy in general, or perhaps Mother Earth (female energy connected to my feet) wanted the female energy of the ocean to speak to me.

No matter, for whatever reason, it was perfect. When I put my hands into the water, I instantly had the awareness of Mermaid energy. The Mermaid energies were able to help with the energy release process. They had words of encouragement to share and only assistance to give. It was as if I was being coached on how to ground better.

Some guidance that they would like me to pass on is to stay stationary at the shore line, which is where the water hits the sand. They said it is easier to stay grounded to both the water element and the sand (earth) element at the shoreline. It makes for a better clearing/ grounding/ detoxing experience. The other grounding tip they would like me to pass along is to breathe. The breathing should have a natural cadence, in through the nose and out through the mouth; deeply from the abdomen.

Try this the next time you want to get grounded and meet some new Mermaid friends. It worked for me!

Feeding Your Indigo Pet

Posted by EnlightenedIndigoChild on July 4, 2011 at 10:45 PM

One of the most amazing gifts that many Indigo children possess is the ability to talk to animals. Most household pets, like cats and dogs, are quite open to being our best friend and confidante.

And why is it that most pets can so easily talk to Indigos so well? Probably, since they are at a high vibration (like us human Indigos) of expressing unconditional love. With the ability to love so deeply, our animal friends are our true teachers and buddies. These animals have the capacity to allow many of us human Indigos, who can be so rigid or unforgiving of the world’s imperfections, to truly see, remember and re-embrace as to why we incarnated at this time.

Celeste enjoying a homemade treat

Like human Indigos, these animals are highly sensitive to their environment, and can even have food allergies like their Indigo caretakers. They too, when surrounded by negative people and places can close down, act out or turn inward. And just like the Indigo, given the right food, these pets will flourish.

So what is considered the right food for these highly enlightened beings? Well, we know that if an Indigo is given processed white or even whole grain products to eat, they are likely to develop sinus issues, allergies, candida yeast infections, behavior and learning problems.

With these highly spiritually developed pets, the same results will occur if given this type of food. Just like there are gluten free products in the human cuisine, the same is true for pet food. An added plus in feeding your pet a gluten free diet, besides good health, is that there is likely to be less plaque and tartar on their teeth. (The same is true for people.)

An ingredient that is typically seen in a lot of “natural” or “healthy” pet food is sweeteners: beet sugar (not the pulp), fructose, cane molasses, corn syrup (a derivative of corn starch- gives product moisture and flexibility), sorbitol, and sucrose (table sugar). Just like Indigo children, these pets are highly sensitive and cannot handle such substances.

These sweeteners produce the same highs and lows as table sugar and a great deal of stress on the pancreas and adrenals, a condition that may result in fatigue, irritability and diabetes. Corn syrup in particular dilutes other vital nutrients in the diet by providing empty calories devoid of vitamins, minerals, proteins or fats, and can also over stimulate the production of insulin and acidic digestive juices. Not to mention that there may also be dental problems developing, such as cavities and gum disease (loose teeth, swollen or bleeding gums).

Also, many pets (like people) get addicted to sweeteners (junk food), which can cause or aggravate health problems, including chronic ear infections, skin conditions and obesity. Some alternatives would be blackstrap molasses, honey, and Grade B maple syrup. Blackstrap Molasses is not very sweet compared to cane molasses, but it is a source of many trace minerals.

Also, consider that like many Indigo Children, pets can have a great intolerance to soy products as they are missing the necessary amino acid to properly digest this protein. Better to stick to real protein like meat, fish (make sure it is mercury free) or hemp seed.

Unlike what is in human grade food, meat byproducts are common in our pet’s food. Due to the lack of knowledge, it is sometime difficult to truly understand what is always in these meat amalgams. Let’s just keep the rule simple, your pet is special, let’s not feed her some unknown substance with questionable ingredients.

Other ingredients to avoid in your pet’s food are: propylene glycol, artificial flavors, artificial colors(often includes the following coal-tar derivative dyes: FD&C Red #40, Red #3, Yellow#5, Yellow #6, Blue #1 and #2 (increases dogs' sensitivity to fatal viruses such as parvo), sodium nitrite),preservatives (BHT/BHA and Ethoxyquin).

So I think we need to rethink what we feed our pets. My dog Celeste pretty much has an all natural home cooked diet. If anyone needs a recipe, I would be happy to write about it in a future blog.

As for now, read your labels carefully. Your pet deserves the best and is relying on you to make sure she gets it.

Note: You may want to reread our other blogs on food for Indigos to reinforce this idea.
